With Electronics in cars playing MORE & more roles..MB & almost all car makers have had to raise system voltages.

MB runs most cars at 14V +, and that can create issues on lights designed to run at 12V.

ON the W210 cars MB had to add resistors inside the headlights to keep the wiring from MELTING. And that doesn't always work. Sometimes even the resistors melt.

From day 1 on the W210's the tail lights melted from excessive heat on the circuit boards.
