Most people here will probably say that they've never seen one without blowby... however if you want to be sure that there isn't a problem (in my opinion) is to do a leak down test:-

This is arguably more reliable than a compression test - but you could do one of those too if you want.

But before you spend the extra cash why not post a video somewhere and ask advice from us good folks here?
