Thank you for responding,LuckyF8. The 2x6 are carried on cinder block walls. the home and garage are about 50 years old with an enclosed breeze-way between them. I added fire stopping dry wall on the cieling and 5-8th plywood on the top for the attic floor. I want to use the attic for light storage. I also installed drop steps for access to the attic.
