Ok I am now changing this exhaust gas recirculation pipe that runs from the manifold to the egr below the intake. I disconnected the clamp on the manifold side and the piece from the crack (pictured above) to the manifold just fell off.

I have ordered the replacement pipe from MB and it is on its way from Germany-$410 later. After disconnecting the other side from the intake and a bolt holding the pipe, I still don't know how to get this thing out. The pipe moves a little from side to side but I just don't want to give it a yank and risk breaking something else. This pipe runs behind the block against the firewall.

The picture shows the each side, in the second picture you can only see the lip on the manifold where this pipe is suppose to connect as that piece fell off.
