I was having a problem with warm starts - the car would start fine, but it wouldn't go when I pressed on the gas pedal. If I pressed too far the car would stall...if I let it idle real rough for a few minutes (sounds like the fuel is boiling in the tank), it will then run fine. No problems with driving after this initial warm start issue.
Well, replacing the accumulator did not make any difference, so I looked at the fuel pressure regulator again, Pulled off the vacuum hose to check for fuel and I tore the rubber part right out of the regulator. See pic below - the rubber hose at the top is torn off now. There is a flat round piece that wedges inside the hole in the pressure regulator and it is torn away from the actual 1" piece of tubing.
Does anyone know how/if this is fixable w/o buying a new regulator ($365!!!)? Can you glue rubber to rubber?
