I have used a variety of these over a number of years.

My suggestion: get a come-along that uses a chain instead of a cable. You will be AMAZED at how easy it makes everything that you are doing by hand.

I have a battery-operated winch and I still use the chain come-along.

Lots of them in Craig's List for 75.00-100.00 and last forever, easily resold, worth every penny.
