I will say (at the risk of much ridicule) that I did touch one of the wires with the tester and a tiny bit of smoke came off it, but nothing since. I have a feeling that this smoke cannot be a good thing.
Could use some help... in more than one way.

Several years back I pulled my rear Window off to do some rust repair and also get the defroster working.
I actually Soldered the main connection Wires back onto the Window and could get conduction in the large coated areas that the little Grids start from.
What I found is my little Grid lines have oxidized to the Point that they will not conduct electricity.
If you look in the below link in post number 4 you will see one of my Grid lines that has patches and breaks of a darker Brown Colored Oxidized area and contrasted by the shiner Copper Colored areas.
