On mine the previous owner had smeared Silicon Sealant around the lower End of the Turbo Drain.

After about 3 years of the leak gradually increasing I finally decided to do the replacement job.

One of the keys to getting Silicone Sealant to do the job is to degrease the areas so that the Silicon can stick. If the sealant does not stick there us always a chance of Oil leaking between the sealant and the Parts.
