Posted on this forum also since I figured I might get more info and seeing how the engines are the same in my ML and the E cars. I am getting straight oil out of my tailpipe on my ML 320, you can stick your finger in the exhaust pipe and come out with a finger of oil. The car only has 130k, starts fine runs fine, but every once in a while all of a sudden it will smoke going down the road like you have never seen, YOU CAN'T SEE THE CARS BEHIND YOU! Its that bad, then will quit and go back to normal. I had the oil changed 300 miles ago and I just had to add 2 qrts. What could this be? It looks to me if it was piston rings or valve stem seals it would smoke all the time. All help is appreciated.
