Unfortunately I have to agree. If you have the tools, expertise, and license to do it yourself it's not a difficult job. If you have to pay someone to do it you may want to temporarily (until the system has to be evacuated for something else) wire around the problem so the aux fan comes on in low speed whenever the a/c compressor is energized. Depending on where you live, you may not need the a/c for the next 6 months anyway.
