I am in the process of swapping parts from my Euro 85 300TD into a Federal 85 300TD and my overall goal is to simplify the car. I am swapping the manual climate control into the car in place of the automatic unit. Last night I noticed this part on the side of my injection pump and I am not sure what it is. I am pretty sure it is related to the klima system and is a part of the various monitors on the engine that are specific to the 1985 model year. I would at the very least like to disconnect the wire leading to it, but am not sure how to disconnect it without breaking it. Any ideas? Does anyone know if I can remove the whole unit altogether? You can see it in the attached picture on the engine side of the IP just below the "clear" fuel line. Any help is appreciated.
