I am planning to swap the manifold and turbo from the euro car so I am eliminating the egr and computer anyway. The tach was inop when I bought the federal car and my euro car never had a tach anyway. I have found that the 85 federal car has many more sensors related to the egr and klima system on it than my euro car does. I am sure that most of those sensors are also 85 specific and I am not sure how that might affect John's swap of an earlier engine into his car. I figured that box was some sort of rack position sensor and it looks like it probably can't be removed from the IP. Does anyone know how to detach the lead to that sensor at the sensor itself? Could it be as simple as just pulling? I just hate to damage things while disassembling them even if I do not plan to use them. Thanks for all of the input so far.
