One thing you can do is to fill the secondary filter full up with Diesel Purge before installing it then when you start it again , the purge will give a quick clean to the IP & injectors .
If you do this , you needn't prime the system , just start it and hold @ 2,000 RPM's until you hear & feel the air bleeding out and the engine misses a bit them smooths out again ~ this takes a little while so don't go letting it idle too soon or it'll die on you
