Target won't sell you booze if you can't produce a driver's license they can scan (or the equivalent ID issued by the Cal DMV). I tried, just for the heck of it, including a government-employee ID card. I don't have a military ID but would guess they probably would reject that, too.

I guess people who don't drive (or have the DMV ID) are SOL at Target, at least in CA. Besides, the day I want beer badly enough that I'll get my passport out of the safe so I can go to Target is the day I instead check myself into rehab.
