window issue
No worries. If you have to replace the window regulator, I would normally suggest a good used one for 1/2 the new price, but not for the driver's window. That window motor gets used so much that buying new whenever possible would be the best option.
BTW, it's more difficult to take the door panel off, especially if it's the first time for it to come off, than it is to replace the window motor. Even then, if you are careful to first note in a diagram where the clips are located at the back of the door panel, and use that as a guide to evaluate whether you have the panel free, it's not too bad at all. You only have to slide the panel up less than an inch to free it from the "upside down J-hooks" that hold the panel in place.
Resist the temptation of pulling up on the door handle exclusively or you'll likely break the arm rest away from the door panel. I prefer to push up from under the arm rest instead. Use the plastic molding tools that can be had for less than $10 to slightly pry up the edges of the panel before trying to slide the whole thing up. Remember to take out the 2 bolts: one at the top of the door handle/arm rest combo and the small one at the edge of the door lock trim piece. Lastly take out the ash tray.
When you've got the panel off and after you've installed the new motor, you might as well and replace the plastic liner that is glued to the door and protects the door panel from the wetness during the rains to come.
