I use the steam cleaner where I use to work. never had any problems, been doing this for over 40 years. now a gas engine can give you some starting problems with the distributor, spark plug wires etc...

You don`t want to hold the pressure washer on the IP, whether hot or cold water. the extreme temp change can cause internal problems with the close tolerances they have. a quick swip across the pump won`t hurt anything.

If you have some rain gear, that will keep the crap off you, and wear SAFETY GLASSES. the water and debris can come flying back towards you.
