Mig welding by a bundle of door wires is a bad idea.

Doesnt look like too bad of a repair, you only need some 1/8" plate. Remove the shim behind the catch. Cut the plate to fit on the flat portion, and get some JB weld, rivets, and a coat of paint on it. Fix the door pins FIRST, so you know where to put the catch.


Or, replace the entire pillar...
