In about 1991 my first wife and I were on a motorcycle trip and drifted into Telluride during this festival. It looked like Woodstock revisited. If not for the (few) more modern vehicles you could have been back in the Sixties. VW campers galore, tents, long-hairs, headbands. We didn't stay there but it was great to ride around town.
Have been back to Telluride (and may get there again in a couple weeks) and have enjoyed it every time. Definitely the low-impact lifestyle. I would love to move to the Rockies in retirement but the prices may prohibit that.
