"Some"

Members here get all torqued up ,when they cannot render assistance to
you CAUSE... YOU HAVEN'T "Told" them what YEAR and Model Mercedes.

Me? No Problemo.
[You're driving an ATC and need all the help you can get!]

we'll "Pick" on the 163.154 (ML320)

EPC Says: Coolant Level Sensor is contained in expansion reservoir.
Which means IF the Level sensor is BAD ...New Tank. ($85.00 USD retail)
I've No access to the ML's FSM , but there' s gotta be a simple test
procedure in there.Somewhere?

(There is a chance that the "Float" inside the Surge Tank is Calibrated to work ONLY
with the correct "Protective" mixture of Antifreeze/Distilled H2O.
Believe it or not, some Fords do this)

Purpose of Level Sensor is to make it a little more difficult for the Operator
to "Cook Off" the Engine DUE to lack of Coolant.

1.Low Coolant
2.Bad Sensor
3.Bad electronics/wiring
4.Blue Moon over Tuscaloosa?
