If you know what you are doing, it's not really a big deal. My Dad made a manifold to which he connected the biggest and highest resolution vac gauge he could get. He could balance those carbs so well you wouldn't believe it.

I lost him about 2 1/2 years ago and was going through some of his stuff a few weeks ago and found his carb tuning gizmo. I had forgotten all about it. Really, it's not that difficult.

I've never really been a fan of the Gold Wing, but my Dad went all over North America on his after he retired. He really loved it. If you want a bike for long trips I think it would be tough to beat.
