Correct, I think part of wanting to send him to a hospital is that he is their for life.
If I understand their legal system correctly after 21 years he is eligible for release if he is deemed to be fit to live in society. If the gov decides he is not they can lock him up for as long as they like, life if they want.
I suspect they are just going to stick him in a little jail cell until he dies, which IMHO is worse than death. Now he will have years to go crazy in confinement.
I have to give them credit in one area, they are much faster than we would have been in pushing his trial and sentencing threw.
