a Sully Strip will open it fast

If you have AAA you can call them, if you're not a Premium it will cost you $25.

Having towed for quite a few years, on an MB of that vintage I would use a plastic wedge on the window frame to open it up a bit then maybe get a bag in there if you need it opened more and then use a Sully strip to lasso the knob, put some wax on the strip's string and that will help it stick better and prevent the string from pulling off the knob when you lift it.

You should be able to find a video of how to use a Sully on the web, and that way you can see what the strip is like and even make one out of some thin plastic and dental floss. Have fun!
