Secondly one of the women commenting on the "boneheaded" remarks by the two idiots who mouthed off about "legitimate rape" and rape induced conception being "gods will" along with Romneys suggestions of overturning RvW when he was sucking up to the religious nutjobs in the primaries as being a significant factor in turning off women.

That along with the moronic ads in Ohio about Chrysler and Jeep after Romney had alienated the blue collar workforce there by telling them they should have gone bankrupt suggests to me that Republicans were staggeringly inept in this campaign.

If the Republican party is going to not fade into obscurity in the future the first thing they have to do is dump the religious nutjobs who have hijacked them. Absent that they will never be able to appeal sufficiently to the middle swing voters who will break increasingly for the Dem's in the future.

I agree that watching coverage from outside US gives a different perspective on things. I was flipping between BBC, CBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, and a lot of PBS - the latter (low budget, no fancy graphics nor army of pundits) were running out of things to say during that long delay before Romney's speech...

I am Canadian but find US politics fascinating, and not only because decisions below the border affect us up here. As comic as the republicans are to watch at times (during their self-destructive fits), I agree they have a lot of soul-searching to do, they seem way out of touch with people realities in the US. It's interesting that most people polled in other countries (like Canada, Britain) favor the democrats.
