Others are calling for more gun control. You will need more than anecdotes to dissuade them.
If we cannot change society, then society will dictate change to us.
I suggest a reasonable discussion about controlling weapons and the hue and cry about gun grabbers is deafening... What other options can you offer? What will you put on the table? Do you not realize that right now is when the fight to keep your weapons is happening, and refusing to even discuss the options removes your voice from the debate. A debate which will be lost by the gun owners if they do not begin to see reality and seek compromise.
The inflexible, unwilling to discuss options gun owners are the ones who will eventually cause society to take their weapons.
Don't say you weren't warned.

While we can all agree that what happened is tragic, we must also agree that now is not the time to give up more of our liberties in the name of perceived safety. Regulating in haste does nothing more than fill pages with ink, and political offices with idiots.
Since we're still learning about what really happened, shouldn't the call for regulations be put on hold until the point comes that we know why the murderous nutjob did what he did?
