A recent thread or news article on Switzerland, where everyone must do X number of years compulsory service in the militia or military when they come of age - and during that time keep and maintain a military grade infantry rifle, in their personal possession...

Yet, unless the media is completely ignoring it, similar incidents in Switzerland are unheard of....

What are the differences between our country and Switzerland, such that they can have a high number of weapons floating about - not just handguns, sporting rifles, and shotguns, but military grade weapons - but yet remain seemingly free of such tragedies?
Wouldn't we also be training the wackos to be better shots, ala 9/11 flight school? The only difference between us and Switzerland is sheer population size and racial backgrounds. They also might overall be a "happier" country with fewer outcasts and misfits. It would be worth knowing for sure.
