You really don't understand CT gun laws do you David?
If she did survive she would be prosecuted. As a firearms owner in CT you are VERY responsible for a stolen gun, it has to be reported right away to the police. You also have to report any change of address within 72 hours I think, or you can get in big trouble.
When you buy a firearm in CT its serial number is registered to your name.
Its no different than loading your kid up on vodka, and handing him the keys to your car, than he smashes it into a playground.
Jail time for the owner, plus big civil penalties.
