why the notch in an alloy v8 bell housing
I just looked at my pile of transmission cores and am wondering why two of my dead transmissions have a notch in the bell and 7 don't. They're a mix of dead 380, 500 & 560 transmissions I've kept around over the past 10 years.
The more specific question, is should that notch be present on a 1992 500sl transmission?
