basically they shut down public transit, and asked people to stay in their homes and close businesses for the day. I was impacted by the transit shutdown in providence as all commuter trains between the cities were cancelled to after the lockdown.
However, I think there is some hysteria in this thread as to how stringent a lockdown actually was, because is was basically a advisory, as if there were enough police and military in all of new england to keep an area as crowded as the Boston metropolitan area devoid of people driving around.
I know numerous people who were out and about, highways were in use with interstate travel. One lady I know left after the lockdown for a hair appointment, found the stylist closed, and returned to her home. ect ect.
we all need to relax and take a breath.
