The Brushes are more easily sanded down by laying the sand paper on a flat surface than they are filed.

Note the Siemens Motor has Bronze Brushes and the Bosch has Carbon Brushes. The Carbon Brushes are easily sanded to size.

I found a pic of where to lube the Motor with the Sewing Machine or 2 in one Oil. I needed to Pull the Fan/Cage to at the other bearing and in My case the Brushes.
