It never hurts to shop around, too to keep them honest. Just for curiosity you should get a quote from a different company to make sure you are paying a fair and correct price. I cut my policy cost by more than half by spending a day checking with different companies. For the five cars I had on one of my policies, I went from a little over $5k down to $1.8k annually. Same exact coverage and deductibles, AAA rated company.
An error that takes "months" to correct is pure unadulterated rubbish.
