I've had a 86 4000cs quattro, a 90 20v quattro and most recently a 94 90cs quattro. All but the 90csq were great cars (that v6 was crap). The inline 5 cylinder is a strong motor, and with bosch motronic and turbo it should be a blast. Contrary to what people think, they're pretty robust cars. Things that will break would be power windows, ACC, and usual electrical gremlins. The timing belt is a breeze to change if needed, and the WP should be changed at the same time since its the timing belt tensioner.

If its a 5 speed, get it and drive it till it quits.
