I have not heard of or used that.
I do use mothballs. Living out in farming country on many acres, with over a dozen vehicles, many stored in and around the barn, mice can be heck on things like wiring and insulation.
The mothballs have worked for me. Yeh they stink when you first open up the vehicle to air it out but it works.
My barn cat does a pretty good job, but I was getting mouse nests in my watercraft and the stored cars, so went to the mothballs.
Back where I used to live some critter completely gnawed up a wiring harness, that was an american car with a harness as big around as your arm. Nasty critters.
