Thanks for the reply , no evidence of oil and water mixing I hope the gasket ' was done previously, I will see how it goes,once I have done the seal I have posted some photos of under the bonnet, I have now found a better indie guy who I would have confidence in doing the head.

So glad I found this site you Americans no how to do things properly .
