Update.

I replaced the fuel pump with the $63 ebay unit on 12/30/13. I got a msg from the wife this week that the SLK would not start. Sure enough, the pump is dead.
Had to trailer it home 50 miles through Dallas rush hour traffic.

I'll buy the OEM pump this time. Oh well...
