I have had similar problem several times over the years. Following are recollections from not so good memory banks:
- my daughter was using car and she took it into Toronto shop (Eurocars). $50 later car was running perfectly. Bill only said "adjusted linkages"!
- I fixed another linkage problem. I think it was in mechanical linkage between pedal and engine linkages.
- Another time, it was something to do with the connection to the Bendix cable that goes to transmission.
- Boost line where it goes to the overpressure switch on the firewall. I had low power symptoms and it turned out to be a split in the rubber connectors at the valve. Teeing a pressure gauge into boost line close to ALDA should show if you have full boost or not.
This thread covers most other possibilities. Lots of good advice from the diesel experts.
