geob, recommend buying a replacement bolt at your local MB dealer. A Service Department rep should be able to provide you with the specified torque value for the timing chain cover bolts. If you over-tightened that bolt I would have expected the threads in the block to strip before the bolt failed. You are a lucky guy!
