Imagine that foot deep potholes in one of the areas with highest tax rates in the country. Time to get a government who can keep the roads open.
About 20-25 years ago there was an accident where the drive shaft broke which jackknifed the shaft into the oncoming lane. The picture in the local paper showed half of a drive shaft sticking through a the windshield into the steering wheel area. Spearchucking the driver. We are very rural.

That road is a disaster. It's a little better now, as some of it has been repaved. The worst part was the start of the WB roadway, where ruts between lanes were almost a foot tall. I always hope for some traffic when on the XB, as it gives time to avoid all the potholes and keeps the wheels of the truck on the ground when I traverse all the "jumps" in the pavement. 25-30 MPH is a safe speed.
