The pump from a turbo car should be a direct fit on your '97. I believe the NA cars have 5.5mm elements and the turbo's have 6mm.

It'll give you a little performance bump but it'll be kind of smokey since there's no turbo to balance the extra fuel.

By the way, what makes you think you need a new injection pump?
