Currently holed up in a hotel built from the wood of an 1874 shipwreck in L'Īle-du-Havre-Aubert on the Isles de la Madelaine. I didn't even know these islands existed until we decided to do a tour of Quebec on our way to visit my MIL in PEI. The place has remarkable beaches and wonderful small towns. We'll be visiting a beach tomorrow rated as the 5th best beach in the world. It's a 5 hour ferry ride from Souris, PEI to get here. The cross commemorates Jacques Cartier's landing here in 1534.
