It is a long drive, about 20 hours from Western NY which was where we started to drive. We also took in Quebec City and the Gaspe Peninsula before arriving in PEI then setting out for the Magdalens. Putting all those places together makes it worth it. When it comes to weather, the Madelaines have some of the mildest winters in Quebec due to the moderating effects of the water. It is isolated though. It's had a pretty sizeable population since the 19th century but electricity didn't arrive until the 1950's.
