Thinking of selling this 1985 300SD. Should I post a message on this forum if and when I want to sell it?
Especially because of the issues with the harmonic balancers on these cars. My tensioning of the alternator belts is simply. I tighten them till I can no longer turn the alternator fan by hand.

Most new belts I have installed over the years either stretch a little or in conforming to the old pulleys need a retensioning not too long after the initial installation. One way to avoid this may be to overtighten belts initially but that also may cause undo stress.
