When was the last time you had the car analyzed and inspected by an ASE/MB mechanic shop??
That's a lot of miles not to expect something like this to develop/happen.
I spend a lot of money on my Mercedes-Benzes, esp. as they age - as I'm certain that it pays off in the long run of ownership.
