I've been in a Vans RV-7 in the summer which has a big greenhouse canopy. Most guys in any airplane with windows or canopies taxi and what not with them open. Even military jets. Sure it can be warm, been there, done that. It is tolerable in most cases. What i'm getting at is, just buying and slapping a compressor, evaporator, and condenser is not a small task for an aircraft. Especially in a jet and the config of a Me-262. You would have to use an electrical motor (likely 400Hz AC) driven compressor for example. The engines generators have to be rated to handle that extra load with margin. Last I knew the reproduction Me-262's were being powered with GE J85 or CJ610's. Old engines that have long been out of common use. Not like you can go grab a properly generator off a shelf for one. A generator for a gas turbine engine could be as little as $30,000 or some I have changed were in excess of $200,000. So a guy could suck it up and be warm for a little bit, or add on potentially another $50,000? to the price of the plane plus weight. Weight is everything in aviation. Hey if you've got the money....
