For anyone reading this thread I have the Mercedes Service Manual Book and the Pic is more clear. On a 617.952 Engine when the Timing Locking pin is insalled correctly the Mark on the Bearing Cap lines up with the 4th Tooth as is pictured.
On the Picture that the 300 Super D posted it shows it is lining of with the 2nd Tooth. If his Engine is a 617.952 according to the Mercedes Service Manual the Timing Locking Pin is installe incorrectly.
The thumbnail to the left is the Timing Locking Pin installe correctly (pic from the 617.952 Mercedes Service Manual).
The Pic to the right if this is a 617.952 Engine shows the Pin insalled incorrectly.
I don't have Service Manuals on the other Engines so I don't know if they are the same.
