Advice Requested on Ebay Transaction

I ordered a replacement LED turn signal for the right hand mirror of my vehicle from a seller on Ebay. Even though the label on the box matches the part number advertised, the part inside does not match the part I am replacing. The connector is different. The seller ground the part number off of the part he sold me, which indicates to me he purposely concealed the actual part number he sold. (Perhaps he thought the buyer would just accept the part and swap the connectors.)

I paid using Paypay. Should I try first to return the part to the seller for a full refund including return shipping costs or should I try to recover directly from Paypal? I don't use Ebay much.
