a/c working again! MAS isssue?
Didn't get any input, but I want to let readers know that I got the a/c running again without blowing #7 again. Unfortunately, I can't exactly pinpoint what when wrong or exactly how I fixed it.
What I did this evening is:
Re-connected the plug, after replacing the plug head itself that had broken while I was pulling it off, started the car with the a/c in the off position. The blower operated properly and didn't blow the fuse. Turning on the a/c didn't engage the clutch, however.
I turner the car off, swapped in another MAS, re-started the car, blower worked, turned the a/c on at low speed, A/C clutch engaged, and got cold air again!
So there it is. I hope it works tomorrow... am carrying a spare MAS just in case!
