Instead of Kazaa, use Kazaa Lite -
www.kazaalite.com . I can't say how it compares to others because I rarely download individual mp3's these days. I usually download full albums with emule -
www.emuleproject.net in cunjuction with the forums at
www.sharereactor.com . I also use it to download movies and television shows. I'm told it's slower than Kazaa, but fake files are far less common. I've never encountered a fake file on the eDonkey (eMule) network.
