I think it was 92 and 93 that had the biodegradeable rubber covering on the harness, not sure about 94-95. I had to replace the wiring harness on my two '92's. I think there should be a tag on the harness back by the left hand module with a date on it?? Or have have an MB mechanic see if it has degraded.

If you really want to keep and improve the car, then do what Anziani suggests. You're starting from scratch.
