There you go. Follow the recommended wiring set-up. It's been a long time since I've used one but those instructions are correct. Positive lead of the dwell/tach to the NEGATIVE (I was wrong before) terminal of the coil and the other lead to the engine block/negative battery terminal.

Ignore the switch box wiring if you are using a standard dwell meter.

Just for curiosity's sake, why are you connecting a dwell meter? For RPM?
