1982 240d manual tranny - removed vacuum lines

I have a 1982 240d with a 4 speed manual transmission.
As a test, I removed some of the vacuum lines and capped them off with golf tees.
I capped off the metal port to the injection pump and the plastic piece connected to the injection pump(I think this is supposed to be for the transmission but not sure why since it's a manual transmission).

I've noticed no difference in the driving. I'm also blocked off the EGR so there is no need for vacuum going to that.

Am I damaging the engine or getting worse performance by doing this?

Please look at picture.

Thanks.
